I’ve had the pleasure of chatting with the CEO of The Money Matches Zachary Edwards along with some of the affected Ex-Noble (Currently Elevate) Halo players about the problems they’ve had over the last couple of months due to a shady Noble and some contract issues. Here’s the situation along with what they had to say on the matter.
For those who aren’t familiar with the story, ex-Noble players had qualified for the 2016 Halo World Championship which boasted an impressive 2.5 million dollar prize pool. Before the tournament started, while preparing, the team reviewed their contracts and realized they would receive barely any IF any prize money for participating in the tournament while competing under Noble.
The team quickly came in contact with MM CEO Zachary Edwards, attorneys, and management at Elevate who helped them get out of their contract with Noble and extended them a contract with Elevate that offered them almost all their winnings. The new Elevate roster went on to take third place and $250,000 at the World Championship. Happy story right?
Wrong.
After an extended amount of time, the team started to question where their winnings went. The players found out that MLG had sent the money to Noble’s CEO who is yet to speak on this matter and refused our request to talk.
Worried about receiving their winnings Tyler “Calm” Mozingo reached to Edwards for help and helping he is. Edwards and his group of attorneys are now stepping in and have given Noble “48 hours before Money Matches attorneys get involved.”
Frustration for the long time Elevate supporter Zachary Edwards continues to rise as Nobles CEO also refused to relinquish the contracts for the attorneys to look at. Noble’s CEO is keeping thousands of dollars hostage and it’s really paying the toll for his organization as many streamers are cutting off their ties with the shady organization. It’ll be interesting to see if Noble’s other teams stay in contract or follow in the footsteps of the Halo team by leaving.
