Fortnite and Star Wars have maintained a healthy relationship dating back to 2019 with the first-ever live event ahead of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. At the event’s conclusion, Lightsabers became a usable weapon in Fortnite for the first time. Fortnite’s cross-promotion with Star Wars lasted just under one month, at which point Lightsabers left the loot pool. Since then, Epic Games and Star Wars have collaborated on several in-game Fortnite cosmetics, but Lightsabers have resurfaced only once–briefly in Chapter 2 Season 2.
